    El costeño y el nativo de la altura que reside a 4.560 metros de altitud, estadísticamente, no difieren en la excreción de 17 cetoesteroides neutros y en la de corticoides reductores. El costeño dentro de los 12 primeros meses de su adaptación a la altura, muestra cambios en la excreción de esos esteroides urinarios.
