Este artículo analiza el ordinario medieval del Real Monasterio de Las Huelgas de Burgos, undocumento que hasta ahora había permanecido inédito. El manuscrito, compilado en algúnmomento entre 1390 y 1406 por escribas femeninos, representa la primera evidencia concretade la habilidad de las monjas del monasterio regio para escribir y compilar códices. El estudioaborda aspectos de topografía monástica, distribución funciones litúrgicas entre monjas yclérigos, y la celebración de aniversarios de miembros de la realeza. Un extenso apéndicepresenta la edición parcial de los capítulos más representativos del costumario.

This article explores the medieval customary of the royal convent of Las Huelgas of Burgos, ahitherto unpublished document of critical importance for the knowledge of one of the mostemblematic institutions of medieval Castile. The manuscript, compiled by female scribes atsome time between 1390 and 1406, represents the first concrete evidence of the Las Huelgasnuns’ ability to write and compile codices. The article discusses aspects of monastictopography, the distribution of liturgical duties between nuns and clerics, and the anniversarycelebrations of members of the royalty. An extensive appendix provides an edition of themost representative chapters of the customary.
