  Tras la crisis de los sistemas diagnósticos, surge el turno transdiagnóstico. Alternativas transdiagnósticas no faltan. De hecho, el problema es su abundancia. Ante su diversidad, se plantea si no habrá un factor p de psicopatología general o un proceso patógeno común. Otro problema es que las alternativas transdiagnósticas siguen utilizando categorías diagnósticas como ansiedad, depresión y psicosis. Después de todo, categorías diagnósticas parecen imprescindibles. Pero ya no se refiere a una clasificación o tipificación basada en síntomas, sino prototípica basada en tipos ideales o ejemplares.
