  Este trabalho tem como objetivo estudar as características do coeficiente de absorção sonora das fibras vegetais alongadas mercerizadas da cana e bambu. As fibras alongadas de cana e bambu, a princípio foram preparadas com as dimensões aproximadas de 150,0 mm, e posteriormente, mercerizadas em solução a 10% de ܱܰܽܪ e desfibradas manualmente com o diâmetro aproximado de 2,0 mm. Por conseguinte, foi feito o ensaio mecânico das fibras alongadas mercerizadas para se obter as características mecânicas. Com isso, foram desenvolvidas amostras considerando o peso e a espessura para a medição do coeficiente de absorção acústica. O resultado obtido foi de que as fibras em estudo têm significância como material de absorção acústica na engenharia.

  This work aims to study the characteristics of the sound absorption coefficient of the elongated mercerized plant fibers of cane and bamboo. The elongated cane and bamboo fibers were initially prepared with the approximate dimensions of 150.0 mm and then mercerized in 10% ܱܰܽܪ solution and manually defibrated with the approximate diameter of 2.0 mm. Therefore, the mechanical test of the mercerized elongated fibers was performed to obtain the mechanical characteristics. With this, samples were developed considering the weight and the thickness for the measurement of the acoustic absorption coefficient. The obtained result was that the fibers in study have significance as acoustic absorption material in the engineering.
