    El proceso de legitimación del Conseil constitutionnel francés ha experimentado una progresiva y profunda evolución, que corre paralela a los cambios en el marco institucional y en la concepción misma de la Constitución que han caracterizado la historia de la Quinta República.

    Esta evolución se ha visto favorecida por el mismo Conseil constitutionnel, pues sus decisiones han contribuido de forma decisiva a transformar la Constitución de 1958, que ha pasado de ser un mero instrumento de gobierno inspirado en una determinada visión de las instituciones, a concebirse como un conjunto de actos que reflejan los principios fundacionales de la historia constitucional post-revolucionaria.

    The process to legitimacy of the French Constitutional Council has undergone a progressive and profound evolution, which runs parallel to the changes in the institutional framework and in the notion of Constitution that have characterized the history of the Fifth Republic.

    This evolution has been favored by the Constitutional Council itself, as its judgments were essential to change the 1958 Constitution. As a matter of facts, the Constitution, that was conceived as a mere instrument of government inspired by a certain vision of the institutional framework, became a set of acts that reflect the founding principles of the French post-revolutionary constitutional history.
