  Ser profesional es el anhelo de todo estudiante pero son pocos los que concluyen sus estudios y eso se da por diferentes factores. La presente investigación se desarrolló con el objetivo de determinar la cantidad de estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas de la Universidad Nacional de Asunción que culminaron la Carrera de Administración – Plan Curricular 2001, en el turno mañana durante el periodo 2011 - 2016, para lo cual la metodología utilizada fue mixta porque se vincularon informaciones cualitativas y cuantitativas, aplicándose diferentes fuentes y técnicas de selección de datos. Este estudio planteó y analizó el problema, al mismo tiempo expuso los niveles del trabajo de manera descriptiva y explicativa pues trata de demostrar las causas por las cuales los discentes inscriptos en el 2011 no concluyeron sus estudios universitarios en el periodo 2016. En base a las observaciones y mediciones, el principal hallazgo fue el factor inserción laboral de los estudiantes durante los primeros años de estudio, por lo que muchos de ellos se trasladaron al turno tarde o noche, en consecuencia, surgió la disminución de la cantidad de los alumnos del turno mañana de la Carrera de Administración. Por tanto, se recomienda mantener y fortalecer los mecanismos con que cuenta la Escuela de Administración a fin de retener a los educandos. Es fundamental comentar que la riqueza de los resultados obtenidos servirá a la Escuela de Administración para otros trabajos de investigación o estudios de casos de mayor envergadura.

  Being a professional is the desire of every student but few finish their studies and it is due to different factors. The present investigation was developed with the objective of determining the number of students of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National University of Asuncion that culminated the Administration Career - Curricular Plan 2001, in the morning shift during the period 2011 - 2016, for the the methodology used was mixed because qualitative and quantitative information was linked, applying different sources and techniques of data selection. This study raised and analyzed the problem, at the same time exposed the levels of the work in a descriptive and explanatory way because it tries to demonstrate the causes by which the students enrolled in 2011 did not finish their university studies in the 2016 period.Based on the observations and measurements, the main finding was the labor insertion factor of the students during the first years of study, so many of them moved to the shift late or night, as a result, the decrease in the amount of the students of the morning shift of the Administration Course. Therefore, it is recommended to maintain and strengthen the mechanisms available to the School of Administration in order to retain students. It is fundamental to mention that the wealth of the results obtained will serve the School of Administration for other research works of greater importance.
