    El contrato a favor de tercero es un instrumento que sirve para garantizar un derecho de crédito del tercero. Examinaremos la posición jurídica del tercero frente al promitente, la relación de valuta solvendi causa, desde la que se explica el interés del estipulante en obligar al promitente frente al tercero, y la interpretación del art. 1257.II CC.

    The contract in favor of a third is analyzed as an instrument that can be used to guarantee a right of credit of the third. We will examine the legal position of the third party against the promisor, the relationship of valuta solvendi causa, from which the stipulant's interest in compelling the promisor against the third party is explained, and the interpretation of art. 1257.II CC.
