  El maestro Alonso Cedillo, natural de Madrid, fue profesor de gramática y retórica en Toledo, al menos desde 1520 hasta su fallecimiento en 1565. Aunque no dio a la imprenta ninguna obra propia ni dejó prácticamente nada escrito, sí reunió una importante biblioteca que aquí publicamos y que contaba, cuando murió, con 242 libros.

  Master Alonso Cedillo, a native of Madrid, was a professor of grammar and rhetoric in Toledo from at least 1520 until his death in 1565. Although he did not have any of his works printed during his lifetime and for that matter he hardly left behind any written works, he did amass an important library that included some 242 books at the time of his death and whose inventory we publish in this article.
