    En la actualidad, el desarrollo de habilidades sociales y comunicativas son los pilares fundamentales del abordaje terapéutico de la persona que tartamudea y es, en el marco de la educación inclusiva, el contexto escolar el lugar más adecuado para su consecución, es por ello que este artículo tiene como finalidad discutir acerca del rol de la escuela en la prevención y atención de la tartamudez. Se discute acerca de la diferencia, la diversidad y la heterogeneidad en la escuela, se analizan las características del alumno tartamudo como expresión de la diversidad y las pautas a seguir por parte de los docentes para el desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas y sociales, la orientación de los padres y el manejo de situaciones puntuales en el aula.

    Nowadays, the development of communicative and social abilities are the fundamental pillars to the therapeutic approach of the person that stutters, and is within the inclusive education, the scholar context the most appropriate place to its achievement, it is therefore that this article has as purpose to discuss about the role of the school in the prevention and attention of the stuttering. It’s discussed about the difference, the diversity and the heterogeneity in the school, it’s analyzed the characteristics of the stutterer student as expression of diversity and the guidelines to follow by the teachers for the development of the communicative and social abilities, the orientation to the parents and the handle of specific situations in the classroom.
