Resumen de Carrying kaolin

Industrial Minerals

  • Also known as china clay, kaolin is found across the world, with the US state of Georgia and the southwest of England two of the most well-known producing regions. Sometimes referred to as "white gold", particularly in Georgia, kaolin is a relatively low value, bulk material and so logistics costs must be kept to a minimum with maximised packing efficiency. A key production parameter is the reduction of impurities, particularly titanium-based minerals, to an absolute minimum.

According to bulk-handling technology provider Spiroflow, one US-based kaolin processing company did not have sufficient capability to de-aerate its product, a process which Spiroflow set about enhancing to boost bagging efficiency. Using Spiroflow's cone filler, kaolin in this case was evenly compacted throughout the bag, Matthias Lee, the company's US vice president of sales and marketing, said.

As a result, bulk bag waste was minimised as bags no longer fall over and break open. The cone vibrates as the dry kaolin fills the bags, expelling air throughout
