Resumen de Madrid, primavera de 1941: el servicio de Defensa del Patrimonio Artístico Nacional y un garaje repleto de antigüedades

El principal objetivo de este artículo es dar a conocer mediante documentación inédita las causas que hacen que las obras de arte almacenadas en un garaje propiedad de José Weissberger fueran incautadas y depositadas en el Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas. Se identifican también por su número de inventario las obras de este lugar que acabarán integrando la colección permanente de la institución. Además se describen, acompañadas en varios casos por fotografías, algunas de las piezas que Weissberger finalmente retiró de la institución y que a día de hoy se encuentran en paradero desconocido.

The main purpose of this paper is to presents by some unpublished documents the causes by wich the art works stored in a garage owned by José Weissberger end up being seized and deposited in the National Museum of Decorative Arts. We also identify by is inventory number the art works of this place that will end up in the permanent collection of the Museum. Furthermore we describe and illustrate with some photographs a few of all those works that José Weissberger finally withdrew from the institution and are now a days in an unknown location for us.
