  The link of the climate with battle and war can appear amazing. However this link is justified by the influence that the climatic conditions exert on the brief (battles) or long confrontations (wars), that men exert since the origins of times. It is the connnection between climate considered as a major geographical factor with battle and war that is considered here. Spatial and temporal scales that also depend on geographical analysis play a significant part in that question.

  La rapprochement du climat avec la bataille et la guerre peut paraître étonnat. Ce rapprochement se justifie cependant par le poids qu'ont les conditions climatiques sur les affrontements brefs (les batailles) ou prolongés (les guerres), affrontements dont les hommes ont l'exercice depuis l'origine des temps. C'est la relation entre le climat considéré comme un facteur géographique majeur, avec la bataille et al guerre, qui est envisagée ici. Les échelles spatiales et temporelles qui relèvent également de l'analyse géographique, y prennent une grande importance.
