  • The article discusses Swedish director Ingmar Bergman's direction to three versions of the play "Bacchae", in Swedish: an opera in 1991, a Television version of the opera in 1993, and a theatrical production in 1996. It mentions that Bergman wanted to stage the Bacchae at the Malmo¨ Theater around 1954-1955, but the project was rejected for financial problems. It also mentions the use of camera, technique, and performance of chorus members in the play.
