In this work a revised list is given of the species of the Family of Architectonicidae, so far found in the layers of the Pliocene of Tuscany. The esamine taxa are arranged as follow: Family Architectonicidae Gray I.E., 1840: Genus Basisulcata Melone & Taviani, 1984: 1 Basisulcata simplex (Bronn, 183l); Genus Discotectonica Marwick, 193l; 2. Discotectonica pseudoperspectiva (Brocchi, 1814), 3. Discotectonica plicatula (De Cristofori & Ian, 1832), 4. Discotectonica semisquamosa (Bronn, 1831); Genus Heliacus Orbigny, 1842: 5. Heliacus (Redivivus) contextus (Seguenza L., 1902), 6. Heliacus (Granoheliacus) subvariegatus (d,Orbigny, 1852), 7. Heliacus (Granoheliacus) alleryi (Seguenza G., 1876), 8. Heliacus moniliferus (Bronn, 1831); Genus Architectonica Roeding, 1798: 9. Architectonica (Granosolarium) millegranum (Lamarck, 1822); Genus Pseudomalaxis Fischer, 1885: 10. Pseudomalaxis aldrovandii (Foresti, 1868); Genus Pseudotorinia Sacco, 1892: 11. Pseudotorinia architae (Costa O.G., 1841), 12. Pseudotorinia theresae Semper, 1861; Genus Spirolaxis Monterosato 1913: 13. Spirolaxis denchi Iaume & Borro, 1946;Genus "Solarium", Lamarck, I799: 14. "Solarium" emiliae Semper, 1861, l5 "Solarium" luisae Semper, 1861. For each species we give the localities of the Pliocene of Tuscany where they have been found. The ecological data for the living species are correlated to their bathymetric distribution and the granulometry of the bottom. For the extinct species we have considered the ecological data of the similar Recent species and the kind of sediments where the fossil specimens have been collected. Moreover, we give some comments about previous taxonomic interpretations by several Authors. The appendix contain the list of fossiliferous bedding mentioned in the text with relative geological ages and the nature of sediment. H.alleryi, Pseudotorinia architae, are reported for the first time in the Pliocene, while Heliacus (Redivivus) contextus, Spirolaxis denchi e Discotectonica semisquamosa are reported for the first time in the Pliocene of Tuscany.
