  • Video games promote a kind of narrative that needs empirical studies and new methodological tools for its study. This paper analyzes video games in general and MMORPG –like EverQuest, World of Warcraft or Espai8 for example– specifically. The main contribution are the concepts of the implied player and the implied game, which explain the mechanics of the complicated connection between player and character.
