    La Educación Superior constituye el más alto nivel dentro la formación académica. Esta enseñanza ha presentado diferentes cambios durante su devenir histórico en el mundo, muchos de ellos relacionados con uno de los principales actores del proceso: el profesor universitario, a quien le ha tocado cumplir disímiles funciones, dentro de las que se distingue la tutoría. En el presente material se pretende sistematizar desde el punto de vista teórico la tutoría para destacar las características que debe poseer el tutor y los ámbitos en los que debe actuar con el objetivo final de lograr la formación integral del estudiante, al constituir el eje integrador de las influencias educativas; de lo cual se obtiene como resultado un esquema que encauza al investigador al abordar con carácter práctico este tema en los nuevos contextos universitarios cubanos.

This teaching has presented different changes during its to become historical in the world, many of them related with one of the main actors of the process: the university professor, to who has played him to complete dissimilar functions, inside those that he/she is distinguished the tutorship. Presently material is sought to systematize from the theoretical point of view the tutorship the characteristics that it should possess the tutor and the environments in those that should act with the final objective of achieving the student's integral formation, when constituting the integrative axis of the educational influences to highlight; of that which is obtained an outline that channels the investigator when approaching with practical character this topic in the new Cuban university contexts as a result.
