    Este artículo aborda una problemática actual al profundizar en el desarrollo de la habilidad Escuchar como habilidad para comprender, se hace una sistematización de conocimientos teóricos sobre la temática, se intenta mostrar cómo una actividad común de audición encontrada en la mayoría de los libros de texto modernos de la enseñanza del EFL (inglés como idioma extranjero), puede ser explotada de varias maneras para extraer mayor beneficio para los estudiantes, no sólo en relación con “escuchar” sino también en relación con la gramática, el léxico, y la comunicación interactiva, La enseñanza del inglés no solo debe contribuir a la eficiencia lingüística funcional, sino también a la habilidad de construir y reconstruir nuevos conocimientos lo que significa desarrollar en los estudiantes los conocimientos, hábitos y habilidades básicas que les permitan comunicarse en la lengua extranjera, se le confiere gran importancia social al presente artículo en cuanto al desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas en los estudiantes por el modelo ideal al que se aspira en nuestra sociedad, la implementación de actividades variadas donde el desarrollo de la habilidad escuchar no se enmarque solamente en ejercicios de preguntas y respuestas para lograr la comprensión, sino que incluya también la posibilidad de integrar los programa directores, la formación de valores y el trabajo político-ideológico, con lo cual estaremos ayudando a crear una cultura general integral desde las clases de Inglés y lograr el propósito del Sistema Nacional de Educación, hacer de Cuba el país más culto del mundo.

    This article approaches a current problem when deepening in the development of the ability to Listen as ability to understand, a systematizing of theoretical knowledge is made on the thematic, it is tried to show how a common activity of audition found in most of the modern text-books of the TEFL (Teaching of English as foreign language), can be used in several ways to extract bigger benefit for the students, not only in connection with "listening" but also in connection with the grammar, the lexicon, and the interactive communication, non alone the teaching of English should contribute to the linguistic functional efficiency, but also to the ability to build and to reconstruct new knowledge what means to develop in the students the knowledge, habits and basic abilities that allow them to communicate in the foreign language, is conferred social great importance to the present article as for the development of talkative abilities in the students for the ideal pattern that is aspired in our society, the implementation of varied activities where the development of the listening skill does not only frame in exercises of questions and answers to achieve the comprehension, but also includes the possibility of integrating the director programs, the formation of values and the political-ideological work, with that we will be helping to create a general integral culture from the English lessons and to fulfil the purpose of the National System of Education, to make of Cuba the most learned country in the world.
