Los flujos migratorios involucran múltiples circunstancias que colocan a las poblaciones migrantes en situaciones de elevado riesgo físico, emocional y social, constituyendo un importante problema de salud pública. Como resultado de las dificultades que conllevan estos desplazamientos, existen diversos factores que repercuten en sus estados de salud y condiciones que limitan o impiden su acceso a los sistemas sanitarios. En una revisión de la literatura se consultaron fuentes de información nacional e internacional, incluyendo cuatro bases electrónicas, de donde se seleccionaron y recuperaron artículos, reportes e informes entre otros documentos y materiales, los cuales fueron analizados considerando las siguientes categorías y sus combinaciones: migración, salud física, salud mental y acceso a los servicios de salud. Se identifican y describen áreas de impacto personal/individual y social, que repercuten sobre la salud física y emocional de los migrantes,así como dificultades asociadas para su acceso a los servicios sanitarios.
Migratory flows include multiple circumstances that lead migrant populations in situations of high physical, emotional and social risk that could considered as a major public health problem. As a result of the difficulties associated with these movements, there are several factors that affect their health status and conditions that limit or prevent their access to health systems. In a review of the literature several national and international sources were consulted, including four electronic databases, from articles, reports and information from other documents and materials were selected and analyzed considering the following categories and their combinations: migration, physical health, mental health and access to health services. Several areas have seen identified and described that include personal/individual and social impact, which affect physical and emotional health of migrants that have seen associated with difficulties in access to health services.
