Resumen de Un estudio sobre los campos de concentración italianos a partir del análisis de Bauman sobre el holocausto

  Bauman ha sido uno de los pocos sociólogos que se ha atrevido a acercarse al tema del Holocausto y lo ha hecho de forma original, describiendo el Holocausto como resultado extremo del proceso de racionalización y de burocratización de la sociedad moderna. En el presente estudio utilizamos algunas de sus reflexiones sobre el Holocausto para analizar un tema muy poco tratado en la bibliografía histórico-científica, el tema de los campos de concentración que fueron activos en Italia en los años de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Los resultados de nuestra investigación demuestran que, aunque no comparables cuantitativa y cualitativamente, con las máquinas de exterminio que se construyeron en Alemania y Polonia, los campos de concentración e internamiento italianos retuvieron también a judíos y otros grupos sufriendo hambre y malos tratos. Esto ocurrió, por ejemplo, en el campo de las Risieras de San Sabba (Trieste).

  Bauman has been one of the few sociologists who has tried to approach the topic of the Holocaust and has done it in an original way, describing the Holocaust as an extreme result of the process of rationalization and bureaucratization of the modern society. In the present study, we use some of his reflections on the Holocaust to analyze a field that has been discussed very little in the historical-scientific literature, the subject of the concentration camps that were active in Italy in the years of World War II. The results of our research show that, although not quantitatively and qualitatively comparable with the extermination machines built in Germany and Poland, Italian concentration and internment camps also kept Jews and other groups suffering from hunger, and physical and psychological abuse. This happened, for example, in the concentration camp of Risieras of San Sabba (Trieste).
