El presente texto plantea como hipótesis que el significante de la falta en el Otro es el elemento mínimo y estructural que distingue al psicoanálisis de cualquier doctrina religiosa. Para sustentarla, interrogamos si el psicoanálisis es una profesión, y analizamos luego el “trazo de la No-Fe de la verdad” en el grafo del deseo. Esto nos lleva a distinguir los límites frente al complejo de castración en Freud y la propuesta de fin de análisis como identificación con el síntoma en Lacan. Finalmente, se articula el desamparo en el fin de análisis con la ética del psicoanálisis, así como la función de la Escuela y el pase.

The text formulates the hypothesis that the signifier of a lack in the Other is the minimum structural unit that distinguishes psychoanalysis form any religious doctrine. In order to defend this hypothesis, we ask whether psychoanalysis is a profession and then go on to analyze the "trace of Non-Faith of truth" in the graph of desire. This leads us to establish boundaries between the castration complex in Freud and the end of analysis proposal as identification with the symptom in Lacan. Finally, we articulate the destitution in the end of analysis with the ethics of psychoanalysis, as well as the function of the School and the pass.
