Sales volumes for the fourth quarter stood at 1.9m tonnes, a decline of 5% from 2m tonnes in Q3 and a drop of 23% from 2.5m tonnes sold in Q4 2014. For the year, the company sold 8.5m tonnes compared with 9.6m tonnes in 2014.
Fairmount's sales included 1.4m tonnes from the company's total proppant solutions business, comprising 1.3m tonnes raw frac sand, a 17% y-o-y decline and a 4% decline sequentially. Coated proppant sales were down 26% sequentially at 114,000 tonnes and down 70% from the previous year.
Revenues for the year ended 31 December 2015 totalled $339.6m on sales of 5m tonnes frac sand, compared to revenues of $386.5m on sales of 4.6m tonnes frac sand in 2014.
