    Este artículo analiza una serie de caricaturas que fueron publicadas en el periódico Eguna a comienzos de 1937 y que trataban de ridiculizar al enemigo fascista  –tanto interior como exterior– durante la Guerra Civil en el País Vasco. Estas caricaturas antifascistas, además de ridiculizar y vilipendiar al bando sublevado representándolo con la imagen de un adversario cruel, salvaje e invasor contra el pueblo vasco en una lucha desigual durante la contienda, contribuyeron al mismo tiempo a la construcción del enemigo como el otro frente a un nosotros vasco, cumpliendo por tanto una función identitaria.

    Gerra Zibilean Euskal Herrian zegoen barneko zein kanpoko arerio faxista barregarri uzteko asmoarekin 1937aren hasieran Eguna egunkarian argitaratu ziren hainbat karikatura aztertzen ditu artikulu honek. Karikatura antifaxista horiek, altxatutako bandoa barregarri utzi eta iraindu egin zuten, aurkari krudel, basati eta Euskal Herriaren inbaditzaile gisa irudikatuz, gerran zehar desorekatua izan zen borroka batean. Hori ez ezik, arerioak besteak eta gu euskaldunak ginelako ideia irudikatzeko ere lagungarri izan ziren karikaturak, eta, beraz, funtzio identitario bat ere bete zuten.

    This article analyses a series of caricatures that were published in the Eguna newspaper at the beginning of 1937. They were intended to ridicule the fascist enemy –both internal and external– during the Spanish Civil War in the Basque Country. These antifascist caricatures, in addition to ridiculing and vilifying the insurgent side representing it with the image of a cruel, savage and invading adversary of the Basque people in an unequal battle during the war, contributed at the same time to the construction of the enemy as the other in opposition to that of a self-Basque, fulfilling then an identity function.
