    El objetivo del presente artículo es el de analizar las políticas de la memoria que se impulsaron en la ciudad de Bilbao durante la dictadura franquista. Para ello describiremos estas estrategias que el nuevo Ayuntamiento de Bilbao puso en marcha en pos de crear un relato único sobre la guerra, y plantearemos la importancia de las mismas. La descripción de las políticas de la memoria y el porqué de esa importancia serán las cuestiones a responder.

    Artikulu honen helburua da diktadura frankistan Bilboko hirian bultzatu ziren memoriaren politikak aztertzea. Horretarako, gerrari buruzko kontakizun bakarra sortzeko Bilboko udal berriak abian jarri zituen estrategiak deskribatu ditugu, eta haien garrantzia planteatu dugu. Memoriaren politikak deskribatzeneta garrantzi horren zergatia azaltzen ahalegindu gara.

    The objective of this article is to analyse the memorial policies that were promoted in the city of Bilbao during the Franco dictatorship. To do so, we will describe the strategies that the new city council of Bilbao launched in order to create a unique story about the war, and we will consider their importance. The description of the memorial policies and the reason for that importance will be the questions to answer.
