En 2017 se cumple el 300 aniversario del fallecimiento de Wolfgang Caspar Printz, compositor y teórico alemán que, si bien en la actualidad ocupa un puesto de segunda fila, en la época ejerció una considerable influencia sobre otros escritores y compositores. Hasta la fecha se daba por perdida la primera edición de su método de teoría musical “Kurtzer Bericht, wie man einen jungen Knaben könnte singen lehren”. De este modo, el descubrimiento de esta fuente correspondiente a la edición de 1666, junto con su traducción española, pretende contribuir a un mejor conocimiento del personaje y su obra

In 2017 it will be celebrated the 300 anniversary of the death of Wolfgang Caspar Printz, German composer and theorist who, although currently is considered as less important, in that time had a powerful influence over other writers and composers. To date it was considered lost the first edition of his musical theory method, “Kurtzer Bericht, wie man einen jungen Knaben könnte singen lehren”. Thus, the discovery of this copy of the 1666 edition, together with its Spanish translation, aims to contribute to a better understanding of the artist and his work
