Resumen de Pierrot revisitado a través de Debussy: del arquetipo al personaje pasando por Banville. Hacia una aproximación performativa (I)

  Los personajes de la “Commedia dell'arte” italiana, repensados en la Francia del XIX, ejercieron, con muchos de sus gestos y maneras teatrales de manifestarse así como con su particular trasfondo psicológico, una influencia característica en muchos de los artistas del entorno parisino de dicho siglo. El artista se sentía identificado con aquellas cualidades intrínsecas a los personajes de la “Commedia dell'arte” y sería precisamente el soñador, lunático y melancólico Pierrot aquel en el que se encontrarían reflejados la mayoría de estos artistas como si de un espejo poético se tratara. En este trabajo veremos la relevancia que tuvo para Debussy el influjo de Pierrot a lo largo de su trayectoria vital y creativa, centrándonos principalmente en la canción “Pierrot”. Esta influencia se traduce en una evocación de estados de ánimo y psicológicos asociados al personaje, además de gestos musicales posiblemente relacionados con el movimiento y la teatralidad observados por Debussy en las representaciones a las que le gustaba acudir. En la segunda parte de este trabajo nos adentraremos en la canción "Pierrot" para descubrir los distintos elementos que le dan vida, y acercarnos un poco más a un posible camino interpretativo, durante el transcurso del cual tal vez podamos también nosotros rendir visita a Pierrot

  The revisited characters from the Italian Comedy of Art in XIXth century France exerted, with many of their theatrical gestures and manners, as well as with their particular psychological background, a remarkable influence over many of the artists of the Parisian artistic scene of the end of the XIXth century. The artist identified himself with those qualities inherent to the characters of the comedy, and it would actually be the dreamy, moonstruck and melancholic “Pierrot” the one in which they would reflect themselves as if it were a poetic mirror. In this work we will notice the relevance that the power of “Pierrot” had on Debussy all through his life and his creative career, focusing on the song “Pierrot”. This influence translates into an evocation of moods and psychological patterns linked to the character besides musical gestures probably related to the movement and theatricality watched by Debussy in the theater performances which he used to attend. In the second part of this work, we will immerse ourselves in the song “Pierrot” in order to find out the different elements which make it alive and with the goal of getting closer to a potential performance path, during the passage of which, we may possibly also revisit Pierrot
