  • Resumen
    • This article aims to explore notions of memory with a focus on ‘institutional memory’, and to illustrate how such concepts can be useful in the study of translation in relevant contexts. Following an explanation of the theoretical framework, a case study is presented. The case study considers documentary data concerning the Directorate General for Translation (DGT) of the European Commission, and focuses particularly on data from a set of interviews of 14 in-house translators undertaken by the researcher at the DGT in January 2013. The article will be of interest to Translation Studies researchers who would like to investigate a Memory Studies approach to translation, and also to those interested in translators’ perspectives on translation activity at the DGT.
