Between 2014-2015 the Kolkata port ranked third among all Indian major ports in terms of container traffic handling, registering 109% growth year-on-year (y-o-y) in fertilisers compared with an average 29.7% growth at other major ports of India.
Raw materials for fertilisers through Kolkata port meanwhile grew 45% between 2014-2015 against 11.3% growth through other Indian ports.
