Este trabajo analiza la existencia de la enfermedad holandesa en el caso de la economía argentina. Se investigan los choques en los términos del intercambio y en la oferta del sector agropecuario (sector en auge) sobre el producto manufacturero (pib real), las tasas de inflación y el desempleo. Se incluyen modelos de var, con restricciones de largo plazo, y datos trimestrales de Argentina, que cubren el período 1993-2015. Los resultados muestran que los choques de precios externos afectan positivamente al producto manufacturero y negativamente a las tasas de desempleo. No habría evidencia sustancial sobre la existencia de la enfermedad holandesa en esta economía.

This paper analyzes the existence of the Dutch disease in the case of Argentina’s economy.
The paper investigates the shocks in terms of trade and the shocks in the supply of agricultural sector (growing sector) on manufacturing output (real gdp), inflation rates and unemployment.
The paper includes var models, with long-term restrictions, and quarterly data for Argentina, covering the period 1993-2015. The results show that external price shocks affect positively to manufacturing output and negatively to the unemployment rates. There would be no substantial evidence of the existence of the Dutch disease in this economy.
