  • Motluk examines the scientific effect of belief as a major player in the healing process of people with medical problems. Belief has never literally moved a mountain, but it can have some dramatic effects. He concludes that at the very least, attempts to discover the biological underpinnings of belief highlight the fact that it is real: it does have measurable physical effects in the brain.
