While the website does get increasingly more traffic and we know now that many more people digest their monthly IM online, there are no plans to shift the focus away from our print publication. Time after time readers tell me how they appreciate reading IM while they are travelling and we, in turn, appreciate them doing so.

As Davide Ghilotti, Chief Reporter, writes ( pp56-57 ) in the first week of May, at around 11am on Sunday, 90% of Germany's entire electricity demand was covered by renewable power - solar, wind, hydroelectric and biomass. For a few moments, 55 out of the total 58 gigawatts (gw) needed to power the country came from renewables. Under standard conditions, not more than one-third of demand is covered through these sources.
