Resumen de Educação de mulheres nas páginas de manuais de história da educação (1930–1970)

  This text deals with the historiography of Brazilian education in focusing on the woman education model printed on school handbooks’ pages of circulation among teachers and students of history of education in the twentieth century. Taking them as a subject of historical analysis demands to consider them as part of a set of educational technologies aimed at mediating the relationship between students and teachers, besides serving culture industry, which governs handbooks’ making. It is, however, their characteristics of “teaching grammar” (gramática do professor) (SILVA, 2007) that raise more interest here, for these books’ content is systematically selected, so that they outline the process of teaching and learning pedagogically and didactically. The period covered by this study encompasses six handbooks that were common among students of teaching education courses at institutes of education and at Pedagogy graduations. In focusing on the representations created over women’s formal education, the study reveals these books carry a certain ideal of women which may be instilled into those future female teachers’ imaginary. As their authors were men who reproduced stereotypes of woman — for the most part, conservative ones —, it allows saying that gender category pervades these questions.

  O texto apresenta discussão sobre a historiografia educacional brasileira, tendo como enfoque o modelo de educação feminina presente nas páginas de manuais amplamente utilizados no ensino de história da educação no século XX. A adoção dos manuais como objeto de análise refere-se ao entendimento de que esses livros compõem o conjunto de tecnologias educativas, sendo mediadores da relação entre docentes e discentes, formatados também por interesses da indústria cultural. No entanto, é o seu caráter de gramática do professor (SILVA, 2007) que nos interessa, pois os manuais apresentam seleção sistemática de conteúdos que demarcam, pedagógica e didaticamente, o processo de ensino e aprendizagem. O recorte proposto neste estudo abrange seis manuais utilizados, sobretudo, em cursos de formação docente e especialmente difundidos entre normalistas e alunas dos institutos de educação e dos cursos de Pedagogia. Buscamos observar as representações construídas em torno da educação feminina, revelando um pouco do ideal de mulher projetado por esses livros escolares no imaginário daquelas futuras docentes. Como são manuais escritos por homens que reproduziam estereótipos femininos muitas vezes conservadores, então se trata de uma questão atravessada pela categoria gênero.
