    Une polyarthrite à médiation immune (PAMI) est diagnostiquée chez un cane corso de 4 ans. Une masse thoracique (médiastinale et craniale au cœur) est découverte et retirée. L’histologie révèle une péricardite chronique, compatible avec un processus inflammatoire, lui.meme chronique, à l’origine d’une PAMI idiopathique de type II.

    Les PAMI ont des causes nombreuses et les troubles locomoteurs ne sont pas systématiques. Le diagnostic se fait habituellement par analyse cytologique du liquide synovial. Dans la mesure du possible, la cause primaire doit être déterminée et traitée en priorité, en même temps que les symptômes. Enfin, si toutes les origines infectieuses, inflammatoires ou néoplasiques sont exclues, il est possible d’initier un traitement immunomodulateur.

    Immune-mediated polyarthritis (IMPA) was diagnosed in a 4-year-old Cane Corso. A thoracic mass (mediastinal and cranial to the heart) was found and removed. Chronic pericarditis was found on histology, compatible with an inflammatory process, which was itself chronic. This was the origin of this idiopathic type II IMPA.

    IMPA have many causes and locomotor disorders are not systematically present. The diagnosis is usually made by cytological analysis of the synovial fluid. Whenever possible, the primary cause should be determined and treated first, along with the symptoms. If all infectious, inflammatory or neoplastic origins are excluded, an immunomodulatory treatment can be instigated.
