Vicente Carducho es sin duda uno de los pintores más importantes de la primera mitad del siglo XVII. En este artículo se analiza un lienzo poco conocido del pintor, un San Bartolomé, que se conserva en el Hospital de St. Bartholomew, una histórica institución londinense de origen medieval. El cuadro es el único con dicha iconografía que conocemos del artista hasta la fecha.

Vicente Carducho is one of the most important painters of the first half of the 17th century in Spain. Here the author analyzes a little-known St. Bartholomew by Vicente Carducho located in London’s St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, an historical institution with medieval origins. This painting is the only one dealing with this subject by the artist known to date.
