  • US environmentalists have filed a lawsuit that says the Colorado river's "right to exist, flourish, regenerate, be restored, and naturally evolve" has been violated by its namesake state. Controversially, they want to represent it as a "person" in court, listing it as plaintiff. Recognizing the rights of nature affirms that the world is not dead matter to be limitlessly exploited. It's a living being whose health is inextricably linked to our own.
