  • Resumen
    • Hollywood would be hard-pressed to conjure up characters trapped in such a perilous position. There are about a dozen pumas living in the Santa Monica mountain range, which bisects Los Angeles. They are trapped on an island of habitat, surrounded on all sides by freeways on which hundreds of thousands of cars roar past every day. But an ambitious plan to build a $60 million wildlife crossing may soon change this. A dozen pumas--also known as mountain lions or cougars (Puma concolor)--have been killed attempting crossings since 2002. Only one cat born in the Santa Monica mountains has successfully left the area
