Resumen de Reinterpretación del mito de Cortés desde el Materialismo Filosófico

Empleando la distinción entre imperios generadores y depredadores establecida por Gustavo Bueno, se aborda el análisis de algunos de los mitos que giran alrededor de uno de los principales conquistadores españoles: Hernán Cortés, figura fuertemente cuestionada desde los postulados de la Leyenda Negra. En el presente trabajo se abordan algunos de los principales mitos que tienen a Cortés como protagonista, y que sirven como ejemplos para distinguir entre mitos luminosos y oscuros: el de la pretendida quema de las naves y el de su identificación con Quetzalcóatl, que sirve para exponer someramente algunos aspectos de la Filosofía de la Religión sostenida desde las coordenadas del Materialismo Filosófico.

Using the distinction between generator and predatory empires established by Gustavo Bueno, the analysis of some of the myths that revolve around one of the main Spanish conquerors is addressed: Hernán Cortés, afigure strongly questioned since the postulates of the Black Legend. In the present work some of the main myths that have to Cortes as protagonist and that serve as examples to distinguish between luminous and dark myths, the one of the supposed burning of the ships and the one of its identification with Quetzalcoatl, that serves for To expose briefly some aspects of the Philosophy of Religion sustained from the coordinates of Philosophical Materialism
