Resumen de Terrorismo antiamericano en España y Chile (1970-1990): Un análisis comparado

  En el presente artículo se estudia un fenómeno complejo como es el antiamericanismo a partir de una dimesión poco conocida del mismo. Tomando como casos de estudio a Chile y España, se han analizado aquellas acciones de carácter violento que tuvieron como objetivo intereses estadounidenses en estos países. A través de varias fuentes primarias se reconstruye un listado de ataques que permite observar en primer lugar el número de acciones violentas; en segundo los objetivos más castigados, y, finalmente, los responsables de estos atentados.

  A tenor de estos datos queda patente que existieron momentos de una actividad más elevada correspondientes con los contextos de política doméstica de Chile y España pero que fue un fenómeno constante durante las dos décadas aquí analizadas. Una continuidad que se explica por la identificación de Estados Unidos con un poder imperialista y de cáriz capitalista, sentimiento que va a permear tanto los periodos dictatoriales como democráticos de cada uno de estos dos países.

  In this article we will study a complex phenomenon, Anti-Americanism, from a less known approach of it. Taking Chile and Spain as case studies, we will analyze the violent actions suffered by US interests in these countries. Taking into account different primary sources, we will develop a list of attacks that allow us to observe the number of violent actions, the objectives most repeated and finally, those groups responsible for the attacks. According to these data, it is clear that there were moments of higher activity corresponding with the domestic political contexts of Chile and Spain but that it was a constant phenomenon during the two decades here concern. A continuity that is explained by the identification of the United States as an imperialist and capitalist power, a sentiment that will permeate both the dictatorial and democratic periods of each of these two countries.
