Heidegger percebe que a metafísica, enquanto projeto de elucidação do sentido do Ser, em vez de esclarecê-lo, limita-se a revelar o ente, mostrando assim, que o entendimento não consegue ser o fio condutor de uma reflexão mais profunda. Heidegger, então, abandona a metafísicae vai buscar na arte a revelação do Ser. Precisamos ir até à essência da arte para encontrar o Ser. Mas, a essência da arte esconde-se na obra de arte. Então perguntemos: o que é uma obra de arte? O problema é que uma obra de arte só pode ser compreendida se tivermos compreendido de antemão a essência da arte. Esta investigação é inspirada na obra de Heidegger Caminhos de Floresta.

Heidegger realizes that metaphysics, as a project to elucidate the meaning of Being, rather than clarify it, merely reveal the one, thus showing that the understanding can not be the guiding principle for deeper reflection.
