  • The article presents the author's personal views and reflections regarding the status and trends of applied linguistics scholarship as of the Winter of 2010, drawing on her experience as an editor of a research journal. Subjects discussed by the author include the integration of information and communication technology into the field, the role of globalization in research publishing, and being proactive in engaging the future of the discipline.
