  • The article presents professional news and information related to language teaching and research, specifically a calender of events including the announcement of the Second Language Research Forum (SLRF) to take place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from October 18-21, 2012, professional announcements including the alignment of the American Council of the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) to the U.S. National Standards for Learning Languages and Common Core State Standards, and professional initiatives including research projects from the Center for Educational Resources in Culture, Language and Literacy (CERCLL) at the University of Arizona.
