  • The article responds to the issue article "Making Change Happen: The New Mission and Location of Language Departments" by Rogelio Miñana. Topics include the adoption of a Integrated Performance Assessment (IPA) for an intermediate-level university French course, the relation of language departments to innovation in higher education, and the need for teacher development and extended pre-service teacher education in foreign language departments.
