  • The author reflects on chairing the judging panel for the Ernest Boyer Award, an annual award for innovative excellence in teaching, learning and technology presented at the International Conference in College Teaching and Learning. He states the Boyer award is international in scope and focuses on excellence in teaching rather than research or academic writing. He mentions that judges don't have an opportunity to watch candidates teach or interview them and instead rely on candidate narratives.
