Iconografía indígena en los envases de hierbas medicinales

    El presente artículo analiza la utilización de la imagen del indio en los envases de hierbas medicinales. Su empleo obedece a la confianza de los fabricantes en la “eficacia simbólica” que éste representa. Su sola presencia, invoca una serie de cualidades, referentes de sabiduría ancestral y poderes de curación, que lo constituyen en icono de sanación y le otorgan al producto una condición de “poción mágica”.

    Para reforzar esta idea, se consideran varios ejemplos que hacen evidente la utilización de estos iconos, que dan cuenta de la estrecha relación entre la imagen del indio, sus respectivos artefactos culturales y la naturaleza en la que se encuentran insertos.

    The present article analyzes the utilization of the image of the Indian in the packages of medicinal herbs. The employment of the image of an Indian like the visible face of the package who offers obeys the confidence of the manufacturers in the “symbolic efficiency “that its represents. It’s alone presence, invokes a series of qualities, modals of ancient wisdom and power of treatment, which constitute in icon of health and gave to the product a condition of “magic potion ".

    To reinforce this idea they are considered to be several examples, in which there becomes evident the utilization of these icons that allow to realize of this narrow relation between the image of the Indian, his respective cultural artifacts and the nature(that represents) in the one that find insertion.
