  • Hefferman tackles about declining biodiversity. A new study looks at funding de-extinction over existing species conservation in New Zealand and Australia and shows that choosing the former may condemn the latter. It finds the cost of bringing back and protecting 11 extinct species in New Zealand equates to the cost of preserving 31 existing ones. The simple fact is that there is only so much money in the conservation pot. But cost is not the only concern
