Resumen de Drug wipes out chemotherapy side effects

Jessica Hamzelou

  • Pain, nausea and exhaustion are just a few side effects of undergoing chemotherapy to treat cancer. Now researchers have used a drug to stop chemo's side effects in mice. The drug targets a certain type of cell, called a senescent cell. Older cells become "senescent" when they naturally stop dividing. These cells pump out chemicals that cause inflammation and have been linked to age-related diseases including Alzheimer's and heart failure.
