With the advent of the modernity the night is reduced to a useless time without any symbolic sense. The article offers a brief presentation centered on the rooster's crowing (that is the break of the dawn) and broadens our understanding of the sense of the vigils and the Christian nocturnal supplication. In addition to requesting the divine protection, the night can also be a moment of meeting with God and revelation.
