Resumen de Trabajo y territorio en el nuevo agro chileno. Un estudio de commuters en tres comarcas del Valle Central

  El nuevo modelo agrario desarrollado en Chile implica la separación entre el trabajo agrario y la vida rural. Trabajadores agrarios que se urbanizan junto a trabajadores no agrarios que viven en la ruralidad configuran un nuevo cuadro en donde la movilidad cotidiana entre los espacios de trabajo/producción y los de hábitat/reproducción constituye uno de los mecanismos que dan forma a los territorios agrarios. Su origen se vincula con los nuevos modos de relaciones campo-ciudad que ha propiciado la modernización del agro chileno en las últimas cuatro décadas. Esta variable, la conmutación, interesa en sus dos sentidos. Por un lado, respecto a la masa, al volumen y tasas de movilidad intracomarcal en un territorio. Por otro lado, respecto a las formas que adopta, según sea desplazamientos entre localidades rurales, entre estas y urbanas (principales o secundarias), o entre urbanas y rurales, o urbanas y urbanas. Asimismo, según sea de trabajadores agrarios o bien de trabajadores en actividades secundarias o terciarias.

  The new agricultural model in Chile involves the separation of agricultural work and rural life. Agriculture workers that urbanize along with non-agrarian workers that live in rural areas configure a new scheme in which daily mobility between work/ productive spaces and those of habitat/reproduction conform one of the mechanisms that give form to agrarian territories. Its origin is linked to the new modes of rural-urban relations that have led to the modernization of Chilean agriculture in the last four decades. The commuting variable was of interest for two reasons: on the one hand, regarding the mass, volume and rates of intra-regional mobility; on the other hand, regarding the forms they configure, whether it involves commutes between two rural localities, between rural and urban (both principal and secondary), between urban and rural or between urban and urban. The analysis also considers the categories of agrarian workers, secondary and tertiary activity workers.
