  • The article discusses how genetic inheritances from fish and tadpoles have influenced modern human anatomy. The author draws similarities, via the spermatic cord, in the ways that human gonads and fish gonads developed. It examines the ways in which the functions of the scrotum creates an inherent weakness in the male human body by inviting hernias. Also discussed are how other maladies, such as hiccups, can be tied to this evolutionary truism. INSETS: Hernias;Hiccups.
