This article discusses research indicating that the cytomegalovirus (CMV), a herpes virus, causes the brain cancer glioblastoma multiforme. Research by the neurosurgeon Charles Cobbs into immune activities associated with cancer is presented as the source of the observed connection between viral infections and cerebral cancers.
