Los estudios universitarios de Ocio y Recreación: El modelo de los Estados Unidos

    La necesidad social de ofrecer actividades recreativas de calidad en España es cada vez más evidente. El presente trabajo presenta un estudio descriptivo del modelo de estudios universitarios de Ocio y Recreación seguido en los Estados Unidos de América, con mucha más experiencia que en España y con suficiente nivel de investigación propia para ser objeto de estudio. En primer lugar se expondrá brevemente el contexto histórico de dichos estudios para pasar a su organización actual y a una reseña de las investigaciones llevadas a cabo allí sobre los mismos. A continuación se expondrán brevemente los campos profesionales existentes en Estados Unidos y, por último, realizará una reflexión sobre el modelo presentado y las mayores dificultades que presentaría aplicar un modelo parecido en España.

    Espainian kalitatezko aisia jarduerak eskaintzeko behar soziala gero eta nabarmenagoa da. Lan honek, Ameriketako Estatu Batuetan aurrera eramaten den Aisiari eta Jolasari buruzko unibertsitate ikasketen ereduaren azterlan deskriptiboa erakusten du. Izan ere, Estatu batuetan Espainian baino askoz ere esperientzia zabalagoa baitago alor horretan, eta horren puntu indartsuak eta puntu ahulak ikusteko adina ikerketa maila baitute. Inork ez du zalantzan jartzen ezinezkoa dela eredu hori era mekanikoan Espainiako egoerara ekartzea, baina baliagarria izan daiteke hark izandako akatsak ez errepikatzeko eta hark izandako puntu arrakastatsuetatik ikasteko. Beste ezer baino lehen azterlan horien testuinguru historikoa azalduko da, eta ondoren, gaur egungo antolakuntzaren berri eman eta horien inguruan burututako ikerketen azalpena ere emango da.

    It is becoming more evident the need for quality recreation activities in Spain.

    The paper presents a descriptive study, describing the system used in the United States for training recreation professionals in higher education which presents enough tradition and experience as well as a considerable amount of available research to be studied. First, a brief historical context of the university studies in Leisure and Recreation in the United States will be provided. Second, the current structure of the studies will be explained and a review of the main research available in the topic will be presented. Third, the professional field will be analyzed.

    Finally, conclusions about the system analyzed will be presented pointing out the main problems that could arise for trying to establish recreation as a university undergraduate degree and a profession in Spain
